Lasagna
Ingredients
Red Sauce
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 lb italian sausage
- 1/2 white onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, chopped,
- 28 oz can crushed tomatoes
- 12 oz can tomato paste
- 15 oz can tomato sauce
- 1/2 c water
- 2 T sugar
- 1 1/2 t dried basil
- 1/2 t fennel seed
- 1 t Italian seasoning
- 1 t salt
- 1 t black pepper
- 2 t chopped fresh parsley
White Sauce
- 16 oz creme fraiche
- 1 c parmesan cheese
- 2 t chopped fresh parsley
- 1/2 t nutmeg
- 1/2 t salt
- 1/2 t pepper
Final Assembly
- White sauce
- Red sauce
- 1 c parmesan cheese
- Lasagna noodles, soaked
- 16 oz (Fresh) Mozarella cheese
Method
Soak the noodles. Make the red sauce. Make the white sauce. Assemble into layers. Bake.
Layers:
- Sauce, noodles
- 1/3 white, 1/4 parm, 1/3 red, noodles.
- 1/3 white, 1/4 parm, 1/2 mozzarella, 1/3 red, noodles.
- 1/3 white, 1/4 parm, 1/3 red, 1/2 mozarella, noodles, 1/4 parm.
Baking:
- Bake covered at 375 for 25 minutes
- Uncover and bake at 375 for 25 minutes more
- Let rest for 15 minutes before serving
