Lasagna

Ingredients

Red Sauce

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 lb italian sausage
  • 1/2 white onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped,
  • 28 oz can crushed tomatoes
  • 12 oz can tomato paste
  • 15 oz can tomato sauce
  • 1/2 c water
  • 2 T sugar
  • 1 1/2 t dried basil
  • 1/2 t fennel seed
  • 1 t Italian seasoning
  • 1 t salt
  • 1 t black pepper
  • 2 t chopped fresh parsley

White Sauce

  • 16 oz creme fraiche
  • 1 c parmesan cheese
  • 2 t chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/2 t nutmeg
  • 1/2 t salt
  • 1/2 t pepper

Final Assembly

  • White sauce
  • Red sauce
  • 1 c parmesan cheese
  • Lasagna noodles, soaked
  • 16 oz (Fresh) Mozarella cheese

Method

Soak the noodles. Make the red sauce. Make the white sauce. Assemble into layers. Bake.

Layers:

  • Sauce, noodles
  • 1/3 white, 1/4 parm, 1/3 red, noodles.
  • 1/3 white, 1/4 parm, 1/2 mozzarella, 1/3 red, noodles.
  • 1/3 white, 1/4 parm, 1/3 red, 1/2 mozarella, noodles, 1/4 parm.

Baking:

  • Bake covered at 375 for 25 minutes
  • Uncover and bake at 375 for 25 minutes more
  • Let rest for 15 minutes before serving
