Caramel Sauce

  • 300 g sugar
  • 60 g water
  • 113 g butter
  • 333 ml heavy cream
  • 1/2 t vanilla extract
  • pinch salt

Method

  • Add the milk, butter, and vanilla to a saucepan. Heat until just warmed and all the butter is melted.
  • Add the water and sugar to a saucepan. Heat under medium heat without stirring until sugar reaches a caramel color. Remove from heat.
  • While whisking, gradually stir the milk/butter/vanilla mixture until smooth
